On Wednesday the 29th of April, EuroCham hosted a webinar entitled “How Can the Response of Your Business to COVID-19 Have a Long-Lasting, Positive Effect?” EuroCham Vice-Chairman Guy Balza hosted the event, which also featured special guest speakers Mr Colin Blackwell (CEO of Enablecode) and Mr Pavel Poskakukhin (Associate Director of Deloitte Vietnam).
Our first guest speaker, Mr Colin Blackwell, opened the event. He discussed the government’s successful approach to tackling COVID-19, and talked about how Vietnam is good at adapting to changing circumstances. Mr Blackwell then talked about how COVID-19 has disrupted normal business operations, and outlined the attributes that will enable companies to respond and succeed. He also discussed the shift to remote working, how this has affected jobs in different sectors and industries, and the perceptions of workers to this new arrangement.
Our second speaker, Mr Pavel Poskakukhin, introduced the topic of resilient leadership. He traced the five qualities that define a leader and how these can help leaders thrive rather than just survive. He also described the priorities for companies in a crisis and some specific actions that leaders could take.
In the Q&A session, both speakers addressed subject ranging from the effectiveness of workers outside of their normal office situation to the recuperation scenarios after COVID-19. The webinar concluded with EuroCham’s first-ever online networking session, where participants recreated a traditional networking event in a new, digital setting.
During these times of COVID-19, EuroCham will continue to keep our members updated on new developments in the business environment here in Vietnam through webinars such as this one. However, due to technical restrictions, the number of guests is limited to 100. So, please follow us on social media and check our e-bulletin each week to be first-in-line to register for future webinars.
