On 20 March, the State Securities Commission of Viet Nam (SSC), under the Ministry of Finance, hosted the 2026 Conference on Stock Market Development under the theme “Developing the stock market – contributing to economic growth.” The conference was chaired by Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang and brought together representatives from ministries, central agencies, financial institutions, international organisations, and diplomatic missions.
To support market development in the coming period, SSC Chairwoman Vu Thi Chan Phuong outlined a comprehensive set of solutions focused on both expanding market supply to facilitate corporate capital mobilisation and increase market scale and stimulating investment demand, aiming to enhance liquidity and deepen market participation.
“The sustainable development of the stock market depends not only on regulatory policies but also on the proactive, responsible, and constructive participation of market members. Securities companies, fund management companies, and financial intermediaries play a vital role in enhancing market professionalism and supporting efficient capital raising for enterprises,” Ms. Vu Thi Chan Phuong emphasised.

Listed companies are encouraged to strengthen corporate governance, enhance transparency, and adopt sustainable development strategies to build investor confidence. Institutional investors and professional funds also play a key role in promoting good governance practices and improving overall market quality.
The SSC reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the market community, incorporating feedback from organisations, enterprises, and investors to further refine policies and create a more transparent, efficient, and resilient stock market.
EuroCham was represented at the conference by Board Members Rita Mokbel and Loan Pham, along with the Chairman of the Sustainable Finance Sector Committee Giando Zappia. EuroCham will continue to serve as a bridge between the Vietnamese government and the European business community, supporting the development of a sustainable and dynamic financial market in Viet Nam.
