Witnessing Strengthened Collaboration at Lithuania – Vietnam Business Forum 

On Thursday, 12 June, Ms. Delphine Rousselet – EuroCham’s Executive Director, and Ms. Van Nguyen – EuroCham’s Head of Ha Noi Office cum External Relations Manager, attended the Lithuania – Vietnam Business Forum in Ha Noi.  

Organised by Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in collaboration with the Lithuanian Embassy in Singapore and Vietnam, the forum aimed to deepen multifaceted cooperation, particularly in economic and trade relations.  

In his keynote address, H.E. Mr. Gitanas Nausėda – President of Lithuania, noted the strong alignment between the economic strategies of Vietnam and Lithuania. Both countries focus on developing traditional growth drivers while also expand focus to new growth engines like the digital economy, green economy, knowledge-based economy, and innovation. President Nausėda expressed confidence in Vietnam’s and Lithuania’s bilateral trade growth and urged both nations to further strengthen trade in goods and services.   

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong from Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance echoed this message, highlighting the important role of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in expanding market access and fostering regional supply chains. He emphasised Vietnam’s appeal as a strategic gateway and investment hubs for Lithuanian businesses entering the ASEAN market. 

At the forum, businesses from both countries signed several memoranda of understanding to strengthen economic collaboration:  

  • The Lithuanian Industry Federation and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) signed an MoU to establish a cooperation mechanism for enterprise support. 
  • The Lithuanian Innovation Agency and Vietnam’s National Innovation Center signed an MoU to foster innovation and competitiveness 
  • Klaipėda Port and Hai Phong Port signed an MoU to lay the foundation for direct cooperation – boosting bilateral trade and fostering sustainable growth.  

EuroCham was honoured to witness these milestones in Vietnam–Lithuania relations, particularly as both countries mark 30 years of diplomatic ties. We look forward to seeing continued momentum in economic cooperation and innovation between the two countries.
