On 30 June 2025, EuroCham Vietnam was honoured to attend the official ceremony marking the administrative merger of Quang Nam Province into Da Nang City. Held at Trung Vuong Theatre, the event gathered over 1,160 delegates, including central and local leaders, war veterans, community representatives, and members of the international business community.
Upon invitation, EuroCham’s Chief Delegate in Central Vietnam Mario Mendis attended this event to witness the significant occasion.
The ceremony highlighted appointment decisions for new Communist Party leadership, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front units at city, commune, ward, and “special zone” levels.
The merger marks a new chapter for the region, especially following the establishment of Vietnam’s first Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Da Nang. Designed as a key economic hub, the FTZ will serve as a pilot for innovative policy frameworks to attract investment, boost high-tech industries, support digital transformation, and drive inclusive growth across Central Vietnam.
