Present in Vietnam since 1990s, Save the Children collaborates with Government, international and local organizations, and community-based partners to implement programmes in seven thematic areas: Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Health and Nutrition, Child Poverty, Climate Change - Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Response.

Save the Children’s impactful work in Vietnam has been widely acknowledged by the Government and key institutions. In 2023, it was the only international NGO in Vietnam to receive the prestigious Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, recognizing its significant contributions to improving the lives of children. The recognition continued in 2024, with Save the Children being honored by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) during a ceremony celebrating the contributions of international NGOs. This marked the third consecutive year Save the Children received this esteemed award, underscoring its unwavering commitment to the well-being of children and its role in fostering Vietnam’s sustainable development.
