Company Profile

UNIS Hanoi was the first international school established in Vietnam, and is one of only two United Nations schools in the world. Our mission is to encourage students to be independent, lifelong learners who strive for excellence and become responsible stewards of our global society and natural environment, achieved within a supportive community that values diversity and through a programme reflecting the ideals and principles of the United Nations.

UNIS Hanoi offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme from preschool and kindergarten (aged 3 to 5 years old) Primary Years (Grades 1-5), Middle Years (6-10) and the Diploma Programme for the last two years of High School (Grades 11-12). The IB is a rigorous, inquiry-based programme that nurtures curiosity and helps students develop international-mindedness in a truly multicultural environment. UNIS Hanoi is a learning community that celebrates cultural diversity, harnessing the creativity and innovation that comes from bringing over 60 nationalities together. Our purpose-built campus on over nine hectares of land has low-level buildings and outside access to all classrooms. In addition to our Sports Centre, Centre for the Arts, and library, UNIS has playgrounds, sports fields, all-weather swimming pools and specialist facilities used by all grade levels. The Sustainable Development Goals are embedded in our curriculum and provide a framework for our Service Learning Programme, which is at the heart of our values: learning, community, and responsibility. English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Learning Support programmes are available. Admissions policies ensure cultural diversity (no more than 20% of any one nationality across the student body) and appropriately balance the number of students receiving EAL support with native and proficient speakers to maintain strong language-language learning within an English instruction context. Admissions policies also give priority to diplomatic passport holders and UN staff, siblings and returning students.

UNIS Hanoi welcomes the Hanoi community to our campus through a variety of Community Programmes including Saturday Soccer, Community Classes and Workshops, and our Summer Programme.
