Having set up operations in 1995, Unilever Vietnam has become one of the most successful fast-moving-consumer-good (FMCG) companies in the country, employing more than 1,500 people. Over 35 million products of Unilever are consumed a day in Vietnam and they help improve living conditions, health and sanitation for all Vietnamese people. Many of its brands, including OMO, Lifebuoy, Sunsilk, Clear, Lipton, and Knorr… have become household names and indispensable part of people’s lives.
Almost 2,000 local SMEs have been working with the company in its supply chain, from raw material suppliers to packaging material producers, to service providers. This expansive supply chain has culminated in over 15,000 jobs throughout the country. In addition, the company has also built up a stable and massive distribution network, consisting of some 150 distributors, as well as more than 300,000 small retail outlets, supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores nationwide.
Since first days of operation in Vietnam, Unilever has strongly committed to investing in social and community programs and is highly recognized for contribution to social development of Vietnam. Launched in 2010, Unilever Sustainable Living Plan has helped drive profitable growth, reduce costs and foster innovation. The Plan sets out three big goals:
• Improving health and well-being for more than 20 million people in Vietnam
• Reducing environmental impact associated with the making and use of Unilever products
• Enhancing livelihoods for millions in Vietnam as the company grow business
So far, Unilever has helped over 21 million people improve their health, well-being and livelihoods through long-term strategic partnership projects with governmental partners, NGOs, customers.
In 2010, Unilever Vietnam was honorably granted the 1st Labor Medal by the President of State for its excellent business performance and impactful contributions to the socio-economic development of the country.
Unilever was also awarded “Top Sustainable Business” for 4 years consecutively by Vietnamese government since 2016. The award is the vivid illustration of the dedication and endeavors that we have made over the past 25 years in our journey to become the Most Admired Company in Vietnam, Committed to Make Vietnamese Lives Better.
