BASF has been active in Vietnam since the establishment of its representative office in 1994. BASF Vietnam Limited was set up in 2009. The company maintains two sales offices in Hồ Chí Minh City and Hà Nội, offering solutions for Vietnam’s key industries, including agriculture, construction, automotive, footwear, paints and coatings and electrical and electronics. BASF’s sales to customers in Vietnam were approximately €341 million in 2021. BASF employed 118 people in Vietnam as of the end of the year.
BASF contributes to science education in Vietnam through its interactive and fun-filled experiments at BASF Kids’ Lab since 2011, in partnership with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education & Training, benefiting nearly 5,000 primary students. BASF also introduces Virtual Lab, an online platform that offers children a variety of interactive chemistry experiments in Vietnamese.
The company also supports Vietnam’s education development through a range of initiatives including school renovation in remote areas through Saigon Children’s Charity and public playground building through Think Playgrounds, benefiting 650 and 12,000 kids respectively since 2015.
