Founded in 1997, AREP is an interdisciplinary architecture practice, a subsidiary of SNCF Gares and Connexions (French National Rail Operator). AREP provides multi-disciplinary consulting services, from urban studies, transportation and mobility to programming and architecture design, from master plans of large territories, provinces, cities and municipalities to architecture and design of mix-use complex and individual buildings. AREP opened an office in Hanoi in 2005 and has since provided design services for many types of projects including urban development planning: Master plan of Ha Tinh, Ha Nam, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Quy Nhơn, Long Xuyen, Lao Cai, Hòa Binh, Moc Chau, Van Phuc Silk Village…as well as architectural projects: Bitexco Financial Tower, Agribank Tower, Vinacomin Tower, Hoan Kiem pavement, TNG Tower, underground parkings…etc.
As from 2015, AREP South Asia has expanded in the ASEAN region, developing projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and as far as India and Sri Lanka.
