Over the last 12 months, Vietnam has continued its integration to the global economy. In November 2018, Vietnam ratified the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Looking ahead, the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) is set to be ratified and enter into force in 2019. In light of such progress, the legal framework for the trade facilitation and impacts on the business environment in Vietnam, especially in the Customs procedures, is also adapting quickly.

Leveraging the successful outcomes of the previous training sessions, EuroCham together with its partner, EU-Vietnam Business Network, co-organises a training session with the Department of Customs of Ho Chi Minh City focusing on equipping the business community with updated regulations and procedures following the ratification of new generation FTAs and the effectiveness of the Law on Foreign Trade Management along with its guiding legislative documents.

The training also includes a Q&A session to address concerns of from businesses related to import & export procedures, namely customs valuation, HS Code classification, special preferential tax.

We encourage Eurocham members and businesses to send your concerns and questions in advance to EuroCham Secretariat (Ms. Thuy:xuanthuy.nguyen@eurochamvn.org). These inquiries will be addressed at the workshop by representatives from the HCMC customs authority, followed by written answers afterwards.
