The Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program (GMS), whose membership includes Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam is known for being one of the most dynamic regional cooperation frameworks. Over the past decade, countries in the Mekong subregion have made tremendous progress in socio-economic development and international integration, contributing to the environment of peace, stability and prosperity in the region. As GMS celebrates its 25th anniversary, the 6th GMS Summit will be held from 29-31 March 2018 in Hanoi, Viet Nam to chart the course for a more integrated, sustainable and prosperous Greater Mekong Subregion.
The success of GMS over the past decades is due in large part to the active participation of the business community. With such understanding, on the margins of the 6th GMS Summit, Viet Nam will be hosting the first GMS Business Summit on 30th March 2018. With the presence of hundreds of business from GMS countries and around the globe, the GMS Business Summit will serve as a venue for Leaders, heads of international organisations, representatives of development partners, business and academia to share their views on key issues related to the development of Mekong region. It is also an excellent opportunity for networking among businesses and constructive dialogue between governments and business community.
