On May 15, the inaugural meeting of EuroCham’s Green Business Sector Committee took place at EuroCham Hanoi and HCMC offices simultaneously. The event attracted over 30 European businesses, including Philips, Siemens, ABB Vietnam, etc. EuroCham Vice Chairman, Mr. David Champion, attended the inaugural meeting and gave a general introduction to EuroCham's advocacy work and Sector Committees.
Christoph Schill, one of the initiators of the EuroCham Green Business Sector Committee (GBSC), introduced the background and proposed activities of GBSC and informed participants that it would focus on eight main areas, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, financing green business to green buildings, urban and industrial green growth, etc. The new sector committee aims to provide members opportunities to raise concerns with the Government and other stakeholders to address specific issues relating to the above-mentioned areas via EuroCham's Whitebook, EuroCham’s Greenbiz Conference and bi-annual stakeholder dialogues.
