On 7 July 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a meeting with business associations addressing challenges in law enforcement in the field of agriculture, chaired by Vice-Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep.
Opening the meeting, MARD shared that, up until June 2021, the Ministry has issued more than 400 legal documents including Laws, Decrees, and Circulars. MARD is working actively to revise important legal documents in order to lift the difficulties and create favourable conditions for businesses.
At the meeting, leaders of MARD acknowledged specific recommendations from ten business associations in various agriculture-related sectors including seafood, milk, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, fertilizer, woods, retail, etc… EuroCham, AmCham and US-ABC – being the only three foreign business associations at the meeting – also gave their input and raised several issues in relations to goods inspection and Circulars 21 and 10 on crop-protection products.
Vice-Minister Hiep highly appreciated all the comments and directed the Department of Legal Affairs to be the focal point for collecting input and responding to business associations’ concerns regarding laws and regulations, increasing the export of agri-products, and developing the agriculture sector in a more effective, sustainable way.
