Global food and agricultural production have increased significantly by a combination of population and economic growth. Because of that, combined with serious natural resource degradation and climate change, it poses enormous challenges to our global food system. It’s time for us to adopt more sustainable methods to provide access to safe, affordable and nutritious food for people, without damaging the natural environment or wasting resources. So, how is the food system in Vietnam now and what is its relation between Vietnam – EU Trade?
Talking points:
1. What are Vietnam’s food system characteristics regarding geographically, economically, culturally and what are the advantages/challenges for the transition to highly efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agriculture and food systems?
2. What is the challenge for businesses in Vietnam for this transition? What is a sustainable way for the business when more and more EU Regulations are designed and applied in the future?
3. How the sustainable food systems can benefit EU-Vietnam agri-food trade?
4. Prediction for the global food system and Vietnam’s food system and what should all we prepare? (solutions/innovation)
