On 23 August 2023, EuroCham organized a business luncheon “Mid-year review and Forecast for the second half of the year on the Vietnamese Economy”, co-hosted with Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam. We had nearly 40 attendees.
The event was opened by Torben Minko, EuroCham Vice-Chairman. He gave welcoming remarks to all the participants and the valuable speakers.
At the luncheon, the following esteemed speakers shared their insights on Vietnam’s economic performance in Q1 and Q2 in 2023, as well as the challenges forecast for the half of the year:

- Nguyen Anh Duong – Director, Department for General Economic Issues and Integration Studies of CIEM
- Thue Quist Thomasen – CEO of Decision Lab
- Soren Roed Pedersen – EuroCham Board Member moderated this insightful panel discussion
The discussion covered topics such as Vietnam’s manufacturing sector, external trade, foreign direct investment, retail sales, inflation, GDP growth forecasts, some policy recommendations. The panelists and attendees had an engaging discussion around how Generation Z will cope with economic setbacks.
