On 18 June, the Embassy of Poland in Hanoi, together with the Institute of European and Americas studies (IEAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), co-organised the conference “Green Champion of Growth – Lessons from Poland’s Economic Transition towards a Sustainable and Circular Economy”.
Bringing together policymakers, experts, businesses, and academics from Poland and Vietnam, the conference sessions covered sustainable development, innovation, and opportunities arising from the green transition.
At the panel discussion titled “Sustainable Economic Transition“, EuroCham Chairman Bruno Jaspaert spoke as a panellist, joining Dr. Nguyen Chien Thang (Moderator), Director General of the IEAS VASS; Professor Marcin Piątkowski from Kozminski University; Dr. Ko Tae Yeon, Chairman of KoCham Vietnam, and Mr. Ulrich Weigl, Head of the Trade Section from EU Delegation in Vietnam.
The panellists highlighted that against the backdrop of global green transition, international experience can help countries achieve breakthroughs. Poland has established its leading position in successful economic transformation, enhanced competitiveness, and innovation-driven growth. Poland’s practical insights are valuable for Vietnam’s journey in building green growth models and pursuing sustainable development.
The seminar strengthened mutual understanding between Vietnam and Poland while promoting research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and business opportunities in green growth, the circular economy, and sustainable development. It also laid the groundwork for deeper bilateral cooperation in support of both countries’ sustainability goals.
