On February 23rd, EuroCham and the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at HawaExpo 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City. The MOU was signed by EuroCham Chairman Alain Cany and HAWA President Nguyen Quoc Khanh. The agreement aims to support information sharing, trade connections, and other initiatives to promote production, trade, and service industries. Both organizations also pledged to strengthen the exchange of knowledge, coordinate to organize events, participate in each other’s booths at fairs and exhibitions, and connect businesses to promote trade, import and export activities, and market development.
HawaExpo 2023 is an annual furniture sourcing show with the theme “Growth Through Diversification.” The event features local manufacturers and distinctive product zones, aiming to connect international buyers with exhibitors through various connectivity activities such as business matching, factory visits, and virtual exhibitions. HawaExpo 2023 also provides visitors with initiatives such as OSB, HawaExpo After Dark, Buyer Hospitality Service, and OSE.
HAWA was founded in 1991 and has over 600 members involved in wood processing, handicrafts, trade, and services. Its mission is to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam’s wood and furniture industry by leveraging resources and building strong relationships among its members and other organizations.
