On 24 September 2019, Vietnam Airlines and Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee organized a press conference to announce Vietnam Airlines Classic – Hanoi Concert 2019, a major annual cultural event which is a part of the agreement between Vietnam Airlines and Hanoi on economic, cultural and social development.
The concert marks the third return of the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) to Hanoi, participated in by approximately 100 talented artists, featuring some rare musical instruments, many of which are more than 200 years old. Hanoians and tourists alike are in for a promising event including the world’s most exceptional musical performances. The LSO will perform eight songs, starting with Vietnam’s National Anthem followed by seven orchestrations of international composers. Years past featured superb performances directed by conductor Niklas Benjamin Hoffmann in 2017, and Elim Chan in 2018. This year’s audience can look forward to yet another spectacular show as conducted by Sir Simon Rattle — a globally celebrated conductor who has received honors at the Classic Brit Awards.
Vietnam Airlines Classic – Hanoi Concert 2019 will take place at Ly Thai To Square, Hanoi from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on October 5, 2019. To make the concert more accessible to the public, 400-inch LED screens will be placed on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, and at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.
Through this event, the city of Hanoi and Vietnam Airlines will bring a glimpse of the world’s music scene to the stunning walking streets of Hanoi’s ancient Old Quarter. The event will further introduce and promote the charming city, its welcoming inhabitants, and its art-loving people.
Intending to serve as a cultural bridge connecting the Vietnamese culture to the rest of the world, Vietnam Airlines Classic – Hanoi Concert 2019 is a part of Flights of Nation campaign by Vietnam Airlines. The Flights of Nation campaign is one of Vietnam Airlines’ efforts in spreading national identity, pride, and responsibility. The campaign has left its mark with numerous meaningful activities such as organizing flights for the national soccer team, joining in the Zero Waste Alliance and advertising Vietnam’s tourism at international fairs.
