Driving European competitiveness at the EBOWN annual meeting

From 1 to 6 June, EuroCham Vietnam Executive Director Delphine Rousselet attended the European Business Organisation Worldwide Network (EBOWN) annual meeting in Brussels, joining representatives from over 60 countries. This year’s discussions focused on how European Business Organisations globally can help drive European competitiveness.

Throughout the week, Ms. Rousselet and representatives from global European business associations engaged in internal discussions on governance, collaboration, and best-practice sharing. The delegates also joined meetings EU institutions, including the DG GROW, DG INTPA, DG ENER, DG CONNECT, DG TRADE, European Enterprise Network, European External Action Service (EEAS), and the European Parliament on key business topics such as trade policy, EU and regional regulations, and EU projects in international markets.

EuroCham Vietnam also joined meetings with other European Business Organisations from the Southeast Asia cluster for region-specific topics: EU-ASEAN engagements and on-the-ground coordination between EEAS, EU Delegations, and business organisations.

Across the meetings, Ms. Rousselet highlighted EuroCham Vietnam advocacy efforts represented by our Whitebook 2026 and recent Whitebook Dialogue Week. She also shared with the EBOWN community and EU institutions our upcoming mission to Brussels later this year and our GROWTH Economic Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2027 – both impactful projects to amplify the voice and innovations from the European business community in Vietnam.

With the private sector increasingly emphasised as drivers of innovation and growth in both the EU and Vietnam, the growing recognition of the EBOWN’s work among respected EU institutions reflects our collective commitment to represent the European businesses.

On the occasion of its annual meeting, the European Business Organisation Worldwide Network (EBOWN) released its EBOWN Global Sentiment Report 2026.

EuroCham contributed to the report’s section on Vietnam, drawing insights from our Business Confidence Index Q1 2026, implementations of the EU-VN Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), and the latest opportunities and challenges to provide a comprehensive picture of the country’s business landscape.

With a deep dive into each of EBOWN’s 60 countries’ economic outlook, business environment, political & economic opportunities challenges, relations with the EU, and on-the-ground business sentiments, the report is a valuable tool for exploring and understanding international markets. Read the full report HERE.
