Join EuroCham at this special luncheon where Madam Pham Chi Lan, Vietnam’s Senior Economist and Mr. Benedict Bingham, Senior Resident Representative of International Monetary Fund will share up-to-date information on Vietnam’s economy in the Year of Cat:

Our speakers:

- Madam Pham Chi Lan is a very well-known senior economist of Vietnam. She earned a Diploma from Hanoi Foreign Trade University in 1966. From 1966 to 2003, Madam Lan had hold important positions in Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), including Secretary General and Executive Vice President. Having served as collaborator from 1996, she became a full-time counselor at the Prime Minister’s Research Commission from 2003 to 2006. She took part in drafting the Enterprise Laws (1999 and 2005) and the Competition Law (2004) and was a member of the Task Force Unit for the Implementation of the Enterprise Law (2000 – 2006). She has made contributions to many legal documents on economic matters and is a well known commentator on television as well as author of numerous articles in newspapers and speaker at many international and national economic topics, business issues and the international integration of Vietnam.

- Mr. Benedict Bingham is the International Monetary Fund’s Senior Regional Resident Representative for Vietnam and Laos from Oct 2007. He joined the IMF in 1994 and has worked as an economist in the African Department in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Kenya, the Fiscal Affairs Department in Egypt and Pakistan, and the Asia and Pacific Department in Indonesia and Mekong Countries. Before coming to Vietnam, he worked as the Mission Chief to Lao P.D.R.
Mr. Bingham gained B.Sc. in Economics from Bristol University in 1985 and M.Sc. from Southampton University in 1986. He  is an esteemed speaker at many important economics events.
