On 14 March 2016 the BBGV, the VCCI and UK Trade & Investment held a seminar in Hanoi. The purpose of the event was to explore opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese and UK stakeholders in the food industry under the circumstance of Global Food Safety. The seminar took place in a series of events that were organised by the British Embassy and UK Trade and Investment from 13 March to 19 March. This to celebrate British Food and Drink and show businesses and consumers the quality, heritage and creativity that make British food some of the best in the world today.
The FAASC was asked to give its view on food safety, what Vietnamese businesses should do to be able to join the global supply chain and meet the EU requirements, the meaning of the EU-VN Free Trade Agreement related to Food Safety; as well as some examples of successful cooperation between Vietnamese and European businesses in food production industry in Vietnam.
