Special Dialogue with HCMC Customs Authorities
Improving customs
regulations and procedures does generally not require huge capital investments
but can improve drastically the investment climate in Vietnam. In the framework
of “Project 30” and beyond, the Vietnamese government is currently working on useful and reasonable simplifications of customs procedures. These reforms
include simplifying pre-clearance procedures, introducing a “de-minimis”-rule,
and generally cutting down on the number of documents to be submitted and being
more specific in the kinds of documents required for customs clearance. Use this
special dialogue to discuss first-hand with the HCMC Customs Officials these
improvements, and to express your experiences with customs.
