The current burden carried by business of training graduates before they can contribute; why is this a problem? A commonly held view is Vietnam's graduates posses less knowledge and understanding of the work-place, compared to graduates from overseas institutions. The BBGV luncheon brings together a panel of senior figures in the tertiary education sector, namely Dr. Le Thi Kim Thoa, Head of Economic Geography & Regional Development at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with academic experience across Vietnam, India and the UK) and Director of the Centre for Ocean & Island Studies, along with Professor Merilyn Liddell President of RMIT and Mr. Jack Howell, CEO of Prudential Assurance Private Ltd. Panel members will make short presentations before engaging the luncheon participants to review and explore how to ensure universities and business "hold hands" and efficiently bring the very large numbers of graduates from Vietnamese institutions into the work place.
