Vietnam-EU Relations: Achievements and Prospects until 2015
The European Union (EU) is seeking to broaden and diversify the agenda of its relationship with Vietnam, beyond development co-operation and trade, to increased political co-operation on issues of global concern. The EU works closely with Vietnam under the framework of the Cooperation Agreement to ensure an effective environment for trade and investment relations. Relations will soon be further strengthened through and new Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) which will extend the areas of cooperation. Vietnam has also given a political signal that it is ready to launch formal FTA negotiations with the EU as soon as the technical work has been completed. But the EU and Vietnam still need to agree in technical talks the common framework of the agreement before the formal launch of negotiations. What is the EU Delegation’s view on Vietnam-Eu issues until 2015?
Join our luncheon to discuss more with the New Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam - Mr. Franz Jessen.
