Nestle Vietnam Ltd. is a 100% owned subsidiary of Nestle S.A. (Switzerland), the world’s leading food and beverage company. The company was founded over 140 years ago. In 2007 Nestle employed over 250’000 staff and operated 480 factories in 86 countries, with annual sales of CHF 107.6 bio.
Nestle is present in Vietnam through its Joint Venture company La Vie (the leading mineral water brand) since 1992 and Nestle Vietnam Ltd., established in Dong Nai province in March 1995. The company manufactures food and beverage products for the domestic market under such famous global brands as MAGGI, NESCAFE, NESTEA, MILO, LACTOGEN, NAN and BEAR BRAND (called GAU in Vietnam).
The Nestle Group purchases annually between 20-25% of Vietnam’s Green Coffee exports, having been among Vietnam’s very first regular customers. These exports are subjected to a pre-shipment quality control in the company’s Quality Control Center located in the Dong Nai factory. Furthermore the company participates actively in the development of a sustainable Coffee growing industry through participation in PPP projects, cooperation with Wasi in the training of scientists and the development of coffee seedlings in the Nestle research facilities in France for propagation in Vietnam.
In order to realize the company’s global vision to transform itself into the leading Health, Nutrition and Wellness company, Nestle invests in research and organizes scientific conferences to further the nutritional knowledge beneficial to Vietnam.
The success of Nestlé’s business in Vietnam is based on the deep understanding of the local food habits, respect for the environment and community, uncompromising commitment to product quality, the development of a high quality local supplier base and above all, a highly professional and dedicated team of Vietnamese managers and staff
